Baby, It’s HOT Out There – Heat Warning Issued

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for much of Northwestern Ontario.

A ‘heat event’ is expected to begin Saturday and continue Sunday.

Southwest winds will bring a hot and humid airmass into our area this weekend.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to be near 30 degrees both days with an overnight low Saturday night near 20 degrees.

A cold front is forecast to cross the region Sunday night bringing relief from the hot and humid conditions.

Environment Canada says extreme heat affects everyone. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
