Bad News For Union Gas Customers

The Ontario Energy Board has approved an application by Union Gas for a one time charge for its customers to cover higher than expected natural gas costs back in the winter of 2000-2001.
Union Gas says the price spike cost them as much as 150-million dollars.
The extra charge will amount to about 120-dollars for the average consumer and will be spread out over three months.
For large corporate customers the one time charge will be significantly more.
Weyerhaeuser predicts it will cost the company an extra 58-thousand dollars, while the City of Dryden says it will be facing as much as 12-thousand in retro-active charges.
