Ball Committee Receives Permission To Move Ahead With Play Structure

Fundraising is now in full swing for a protected play structure at the Sandy Beach Ball Diamonds.

The City of Dryden has approved the proposal submitted by the Ball Diamonds Committee.

The total cost of the project is now more than $63,000, which means some $34,000 must be raised.

Efforts have been aided by a donation of $815 from Eileen and Brian Williams and their Winter Ball Tournament.

The project was held up in January after the group learned the sand surface wouldn’t pass new provincial regulations.

The protected area would give kids a chance to play while ball games are going on without fear of getting hit by a foul ball.
