Bariatric Surgery Offered In T.Bay

Northwestern Ontario residents in need of bariatric surgery can now get the procedure done close to home.
Today Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre launched its Bariatric Surgery Program
Medical Director Dr. Asiru Abu-Bakare says, previously, patients had to travel to southern Ontario for care.
This meant they could wait up to 18 months for surgery.
Abu-Bakare adds the number of those who require the treatment is 20 per cent higher in the north.
