Barwick man arrested on drug charges in Sioux Narrows

A 63 year man from Barwick has been charged following a collision in Sioux Narrows this week.

On Monday, the OPP received a report of a car in a ditch near Halvorson Drive.

The occupants fled prior to the police arriving, and after several hours, the OPP were unable to locate them.

Early Wednesday morning, Kenora OPP notified of a man passed out in the same vehicle and was not responding.

The Whitefish Bay EMS was called, and as a result of their investigation police have charged the man with trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The accused has been released from custody and is due to appear in Kenora court late next month.
