Wildlife officials in Kenora predict its going to be a bad fall for
nuisance bears.
So far, Kenora’s animal control officers have received over
150-complaints about nuisance bears and have tranquilized 2 of them, while
trapping 15 others.
MNR Biologist Norm Hissa says a bad berry crop this summer means
bears have moved into town a lot earlier than usual.
He says the bruins are not only moving closer to humans, but are also
getting a lot bigger, because of the availability of food in the City.
