The Thunder Bay Bearcats jumped out to a 5-0 lead before hanging on to beat the Thunder Bay Bulldogs 6-3 in Game 1 of the Best of 5 SIJHL Quarter-Final.
Jeff Manryk led the way with a pair of markers, while the Bearcats
managed to chase star goalie Drew Strandberg from the Bulldogs net.
Game 2 is Friday night.
The other first round series featuring Fort Frances and Schreiber
opens tonight in Schreiber.
