Ben Johnson Trains Local Athletes

A chance of a lifetime for several young Dryden athletes.
Former Canadian Track star Ben Johnson has wrapped up his visit to Dryden to train the High School track team as well as others.
Johnson says the kids responded well to his taxing training regime.
He stressed the importance of first strengthening tendons and muscles and getting the body strong.
He says once you do that you can start working on the ability to run properly.
Johnson also told the future stars what it takes to be a top athlete.
He stresses you have to have discipline, self-control, self-motivation, respect, healthy habits and avoid temptation such as parties and drinking.
Johnson says he was impressed with the development of the track athletes during his stay.
Johnson also developed a yearly training program for track coach Mike Wood.
This was the second trip to Dryden in as many years.
