The Dryden Ice Dogs and Borderland Thunder’s bid to join the Manitoba
Junior Hockey League has been rejected for the time being.
The League has decided to put the issue to rest, because Hockey Northwestern Ontario has not granted approval for them to leave the SIJHL.
MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis says if that appeal is accepted, they may
decide to take another look at the 2-applications.
Dryden and Borderland are appealing HNO’s decision and the matter is
now in the hands of lawyers.
The appeal is expected to be heard Saturday in Thunder Bay.
Both clubs have been upset with the SIJHL and the lack of growth and state they are losing money in the league.
