A Kenora business has been hit with a hefty fine as a result of a workplace incident in Marathon two years ago.
Sigfusson Northern Limited has been fined $50,000 after the company pleaded guilty to violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The heavy equipment company was working on a road in Marathon in September of 2008, when one of its workers got his arm entangled in a drill.
None of the emergency shutdown switches worked and the worker broke his arm.
