Unsafe and illegal hunting has cost two Thunder Bay men dearly.
David Bragg and Leonard Lazinski have been fined a total of $9,500 for a number of violations.
Conservation officers set up a deer decoy operation last November on private property west of Thunder Bay to target unsafe hunting and to address public complaints of trespassing.
Court heard that Bragg left a vehicle and approached the fence line of a field and fired a shot at the decoy.
At the same time, Lazinski shot his rifle in Bragg’s direction, attempting to hit the decoy from his truck.
Both men have been banned from hunting for one year.
