The ongoing mining dispute between Big Trout Lake First
Nation and Platinex Mining company will be discussed
during two days of injunction hearings starting today in
Thunder Bay.
The First Nation stopped Platinex from building a mine
on what is believed to be aboriginal land.
Spokesperson John Cutfeet says the Federal and
Provincial Government’s need to stand up for First Nation
rights.

Platinex has filed a 10 billion dolalr lawsuit against
Big Trout Lake, and the first nation has launched a
lawsuit challenging the Ontario Mining act.
