An important win for the Red Lake Miners on the weekend.
The Miners held on for a 7-5 home win over the Thunder Bay North Stars on Saturday.
Leighton Holstein led the way with a pair of goals, while Spencer Milne recorded a goal and two assists.
Hunter Halcrow, Jordan Baranesky, Ryan Howe and Ryan Patterson added singles.
The North Stars outshot the Miners 46-31, with Samuel Gendron picking up the victory.
Red Lake is now eight points behind the league leaders and three clear of third place Thief River Falls.
The Norskies handed Fort Frances their sixth straight loss with an 8-3 win at the Ice for Kids Arena.
