Bio Mass Boiler Meeting Slated

Final planning for the bio-mass boiler project is underway –despite the fact local mill management must wait until March 6th to get final approval for funding.
Management is anticipating the request for funding will be granted.
A public meeting is slated regarding Abitibi’s application to alter the town’s official plan and adjust a zoning bylaw to permit the development of the land for a bio-mass boiler.
The purpose of the meeting, which is required under the Planning Act, is to explain why the amendments are required and what the effect will be.
The public will be asked for their input on the project as well.
The meeting is slated for tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
