Canada’s largest payment processor says Canadians have embraced Black Friday.
Moneris spokesperson Malcolm Fowler says the day has now surpassed Boxing Day in terms of total spending.
December 23rd remains the busiest day in terms of the number of transactions.
Fowler says Canadian retailers are making good deals available which has slowed down cross-border shopping.
He adds purchase growth across the country has been substantial.
