2-athletes from this area have qualified for the 2010 Ontario Summer Games after a strong showing at the Blueberry Triathlon in Sioux Lookout on the weekend.
Dryden’s Garrett Lindquist and Patrick Strang of Lac Seul will be making the trip to Sudbury.
Lindquist finished second and Strang fourth in the Boys Aged 14-to-15 Division.
In other results, Dryden’s Kira Kuzemchuk won Gold in the Girls 12-13 Race.
In the Overall Triathlon, Thunder Bay’s Darrell Hay claimed the Men’s title finishing the race in 1-hour and 7-minutes.
Dryden’s Cory Smith finished second.
Smith is now preparing for a major event in Muskoka in September, which includes a 1.8-kilometre swim, 94-kilometre bike ride and 20-kilometre run.
Dawn Huck of Winnipeg was the Female Champion with a time of 1-hour and 19-minutes.
