The Trudeau government has spent a record of well over $2-billion in infrastructure funding in the Kenora Riding.
That’s according to MP Bob Nault.
Nault says a majority of the money has been earmarked for projects in the far north.
He says they are starting to build bridges and all-weather roads up north, which will have an impact on the regional economy.
Nault stresses the investments are long overdue.
Nault says the biggest funding commitment in the region is the $1.6-billion to extend the electrical grid to Pikangikum and 16 other remote communities.
