Bombardier In Thunder Bay Remains Under Fire

The Toronto Transit Commission says it’s disappointed and frustrated by continued delays in the delivery of street cars from Thunder Bay’s Bombardier plant.

70 cars were to be delivered by the end of this year and that has been lowered to 65.

TTC officials say there should be 146 streetcars on the road today instead of just 45.

They are pursuing a $50-million legal claim against Bombardier for an ongoing failure to meet delivery targets.

The TTC Board has also directed staff to pursue other potential suppliers for future streetcar orders.
