A free program to promote basic education and literacy is back in Dryden for a third year.
It’s called the Books for Sharing Box and is a joint initiative between the Rotary Club, Dryden Public Library and Friends of the Library.
A new box has been installed at 199 Wice Road in North Dryden, at the beginning of the Hatch Memorial Parkway.
Visitors to the book box will find a variety of books for all reading levels including adult, teen, juvenile and easy reading for the very young.
Anyone can drop by, grab a book to read, and return it to the box once you are done with it.
Two other boxes were established last year at Kinsmen Park and the Laura Howe Marsh parking lot.
Rotary funded and built the boxes and the Friends of the Dryden Public Library monitor and stock them with books from the Library’s inventory of gently used reading material.
