Border Crossing trial proposed

Angle Inlet on Lake of the Woods is being proposed as a trial location for the U.S. government’s new border crossing card.

The card is scheduled to go into effect in 2008 and will be necessary for any american crossing into the U.S. from Canada.

U.S. Senator Norm Coleman says he has a number of concerns about the card, espcially in border communities along northern Minnesota.

Angle Inlet is the most northly community of the lower 48 states and visitors need to pass through Canada to reach the community by land.
