Passenger rail service could return to the southern CP rail line across Northwestern Ontario if Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Ken Boshcoff has his way.
Although the service would initially benefit the Lakehead, Boshcoff would like to see the Rainy River District included as well.

Boshcoff has thrown his support behind former VIA Rail employee Sylvain Gervais, who has been pushing for the return of increased passenger rail service across Northern Ontario.
Right now, VIA Rail only serves the northern CN line which links a string of remote communities between Sudbury and Winnipeg including Sioux Lookout.
