Manitoba officials are dealing with the aftermath of a series of fires in downtown Brandon.
The City of Brandon says a 68-unit apartment building sustained heavy water and fire damage and isn’t safe for residents yet.
Another building was severely damaged, while another two were destroyed.
The city, along with Canadian Red Cross and the province of Manitoba is taking care of evacuees, who have been placed in temporary housing.
Officials haven’t released the cause of the first fire, which broke out Saturday around the noon hour.
Nobody was injured in the fires, and Brandon West MLA Reg Helwer indicates that all pets in the apartment building are safe. (File Photo)

Closer inspection today of the terrible losses to these downtown businesses and significant damage to Massey Manor. Brandon Fire Service along with 5 neighboring fire departments did a fabulous job of battling this very challenging incident. pic.twitter.com/OXKNp1bIrg
