Bright Meteor Streaks Through Northern Sky

Reports of flashes of light across the night sky are being attributed to a fireball.

The International Meteor Organization says it was a brighter than usual meteor.

The Organization, which tracks such reports, notes sightings started at around 9:30 Wednesday night across southern Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, Minnesota and into Wisconsin and Iowa.

One person from the Rainy River-Baudette, Minnesota area tells CKDR News that they heard a loud explosion sound and then witnessed a flash of light in the sky like lightning.
