Dryden isn’t the only community wrestling with its budget and mill assessments.
Thunder Bay Council has approved the 2013 budget and taxes are going up 2.6%.
Meantime, the Town of Fort Frances won’t be putting any money in reserves this year.
The million dollars it had set aside, will now go toward offsetting the $1.7-million tax rebate to Resolute Forest Products.
The town had already set aside $575,000 towards the company’s assessment appeal.
Dryden continues to work on the 2013 budget and a draft version is expected to be presented to Council this month.
