A new reason for a school bus cancellation Wednesday morning.
Sioux Lookout #53, servicing Hudson and Sioux Lookout, has been cancelled due to a lack of drivers. It’s not clear at this time if the bus will run in the afternoon.
The Northwestern Ontario Student Services Consortium says the province of Ontario is experiencing a serious driver shortage, and the situation is no different here at home.
The Consortium says it’s continuing to work with the bus companies and the Ministry of Education to ensure school bus services are being covered in the region and that kids get to school on time.
Anyone interested in becoming a bus driver is urged to contact the respective bus companies in each community.
