area crews were busy in may and august but not the rest of the summer.

almost 33-thousand hectares of land has been burned across the
region, compared to 147-thousand in 2006.
mclean notes the official end to the fire season isn’t until october
31st and crews are still monitoring the situation in the fort frances
district.
