Busy Fire Season

This summer has been a busy one for Ministry of Natural Resources fires crews in northwestern Ontario.

Of the almost 15 hundred wild fires in Ontario this year,
over one thousand have been in the west fire region.

Fire information officer Debbie McLean says while its been busier than usual, the amount of forest land burned has been relatively small.

N002 Q: …initial attack. (22 secs.)

McLean says with more sunshine is expected over the Labor Day long weekend they expect a fair bit of fire activity,
both human and lightning caused.
