Provincial Police say it was a busy long weekend.
The number of charges on OPP patrolled roads was up 4% over the same time last year.
Police are reporting an increase in the number of charges in four categories; speeding, racing, seatbelt infractions, and impaired driving.
OPP also concentrated on distracting driver over Labour Day and officials say that may have made a difference in the increased number of charges laid overall.
Distracted driving charges were down 38% over last year, but police still laid 407-charges against inattentive drivers.
