The Dryden Food Bank continues to face a demand in services as food prices skyrocket and the cost of living continues to go up.
In the month of October alone 465 hampers were handed out which amounts to about $44,000.
Manager Al Huckaby says they always appreciate donations.
Food items needed include pasta, cereal, and canned products, among other things.
Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Huckaby notes cash donations allow the organization to target immediate needs and buy product in bulk.
Meantime, the Dryden Food Bank has just received a $1,200 donation from Ontario Provincial Police retired senior constable John Kennedy of Dryden on his own behalf.
Kennedy is a member of the OPP Veterans’ Association Chapter #17 Kenora.
