Busy Year For Kids Help Phone

This past year was a very difficult one for mental health issues, especially for children.

Katherine Hay is the president of Kids Help Phone and says they saw an unprecedented demand for the services.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve seen an increase in demand for our service and support to over 1.2 million connections with young people in Ontario…more than double than before the pandemic hit,” explains Hay.

“The need is not slowing down. The top issues this past year are stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, suicide and self-harm.”

Hay adds they were able to save almost 1,300 kids from suicide this past year.
