With winter in northwestern Ontario bringing everything from deep snow, to ice rain, and slush, snow tires are critical to everyone’s safety.
That’s according to Canadian Automobile Association Spokesperson Gary Howard, who adds you must put all four snow tires on for them to be effective.
Howard adds some people with front wheel drive cars try to skate by with only two snow tires, but he cautions that is ineffective and dangerous.
Howard says snow tires reduce your stop time by about 25%, because it is softer, and has better grip on water, snow and slush.
