Petitions are now available at the 4-local Dental Clinics calling on
the City to put fluoride back in the drinking water.
600-signatures are needed to get a referendum in the next Municipal
Election.
Various literature and posters promoting the benefits of fluoride are
also up available at local offices.
Council turned down fluoride last year citing safety concerns but Dr.
Peter Cooney says that problem can quickly be rectified.
Cooney says tooth decay rates among area youth have gone up
considerably the last 4-years.
The City removed fluoride from the drinking water in 2001
