A peaceful walk is planned for Friday by those who are opposed to the proposal of a deep underground nuclear repository in the Ignace and Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation area.
It is being held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
The call to action walk will start at the Government Dock and make its way to City Hall and then back to the dock where lunch will be provided by Eagle Lake First Nation members.
Local residents are encouraged to take part.
Organizers with Sunset Country Spirit Alliance say the event will start with a prayer and water ceremony, recognizing the importance of protecting the environment, land, air and water.
