Premier Kathleen Wynne continues to defend an increase to the minimum wage.
Government reports show that calls to the Ministry of Labour’s Employment Standards hotline have doubled since the raise to $14- an hour in January.
Wynne claims the hike is critically important to families.
Wynne says one million people earn a minimum wage today, 60-percent are women.
She adds they are creating a fair society by boosting the minimum wage and bringing in new labour laws.
