Calls to Protect Northern Woodland Caribou

Environmental activists have a dire warning about the dwindling numbers
of a long-time Christmas fixture, the woodland caribou in Northwestern
Ontario.
To push their cause, protesters, including one dressed as Santa Claus
descended on the Legislature Thursday.
Evan Ferrari says if the caribou’s habitat isn’t protected, they
won’t have any territory left.
Ferrari is pleased with the Government’s efforts to conserve the boreal
forest but is critical of a power corridor from Manitoba, which would cut
into their domain.
