Cameron George McIvor
With loving family by his side, our beloved Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center Intensive Mediate Care Unit on Sunday, June 24, 2012.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Red Lake MCM Hospital and the staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center for the exceptional care Cam received. Also, thank you to the Ear Falls & Red Lake ambulance services and ORNGE air ambulance.
Cam was born June 14, 1950 in Snow Lake, Manitoba, to Mildred and George McIvor. He moved to Balmertown as a small child with his family. Cam was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Hopko in Red Lake, May 7, 1977.
After spending numerous years within the mining industry, Cam was employed with Ontario Clean Water Agency for 28 years in Red Lake and then Ear Falls where he retired in June 2011.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carolyn, son Donovan, daughter-in-law Lori and granddaughters Macey & Anna, who were the pride of his life, his special auntie Helen Ford, aunt Yvonne Arthurson, aunt Vina Pruden, sisters Janice and Valerie McIvor, mother-in-law Gertrude Collins (Hopko), as well as his nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Cam was predeceased by his parents and sister, Debbie McIvor as well as several other beloved family members.
In keeping with Cam’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life was held on June 29, 2012.
