The Public School Board ‘Summer Literacy’ program has been deemed a major success.
The 4-week course was offered in Dryden, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and Kenora this Summer.
Lisa Closs was one of the instructors at New Prospect School and says more than 20-kids participated in Dryden.
Closs says the initiative is a fun and interactive approach to improve reading and writing skills.
She says the program is geared towards students going into Grades 2,3 and 4.
Closs notes she saw a major improvement in students literacy skills over the course of the program.
