The Vice-Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal People is urging the aboriginal population to participate and vote in the upcoming federal election.
Ron Swain says the election campaign is very important for the future prosperity of First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.
Swain admits there agenda is large but simple, that’s to reduce the level of poverty.
He adds the parties aboriginal people should focus on are the ones that respect treaties and accommodations with their communities.
Swain notes the next government should work with individual First Nations from coast-to-coast.
