All of northwestern Ontario is ready for Canada 150 celebrations Saturday.
In Red Lake, festivities get going at noon with the raising of the flag, Mayor’s Address and more.
The highlight will be at 12:30 with the grand opening of the Splash Park.
There will be games, activities, displays and a skateboard demonstration and clinic from 12:30 until 6:30.
The fireworks display will be held at dusk and all events are being held at Centennial Park.
Mayor Phil Vinet says this will be the first time the show will be held right in the park.
This year in Sioux Lookout, activities are being held at the Travel Information Centre.
Opening ceremonies begin at noon and there will a number of events for kids of ages throughout the day.
The municipality is also offering free use of all public boat launches Saturday and parking permits won’t be required.
The fireworks show will still be at Town Beach.
