A warning from the Canada Border Services Agency of a scam that is circulating the area.
Officials are reporting that some people have been receiving emails, text messages, or telephone calls from individuals claiming to be from the Agency and asking for personal information including social insurance numbers.
The reasons why vary and change from each contact the scammers make.
The Agency says it never makes such requests and if you receive such a communication, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
