Canada Post is reaping the benefits of a turbulent year.
They’ve overhauled their business model by phasing out home delivery, and increased prices, but they posted a pre tax profit of $194 million for 2014.
The turnaround is marked by an increase in parcel shipping, higher stamp prices, and lower costs from employee benefits.
The year before they posted a pre tax loss of $125 million.
In addition, a successful holiday season increased the number of parcels mailed by 7 million, bringing the total value shipped over 1 billion dollars – a first for Canada Post.
