The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is speaking out against proposed deregulation of Canada Post.
Union members held a protest outside Shopper’s Drug Mart in Dryden last Friday.
Local President Pat Livingston says the move would lead to increased costs, post office closures, fewer jobs and less service.
The Union states that postal service in Sweden was deregulated in 1993 and their rate has increased by 90-percent.
Livingston says they are upset that some service has been transferred from the main Dryden outlet to Shoppers.
Livingston predicts job losses in the near future.
