Canada Post has temporarily suspended its plan to convert door-to-door mail delivery to community mailboxes.
The Crown Corporation plans to work with the Government of Canada to determine the next step, after the Liberals said during the Federal Election that they would scrap the idea.
Officials say that “all conversions” planned for November and December, and those scheduled to follow in 2016, will be placed “on hold.”
Neighbourhoods that have already been converted, will continue to collect their mail and parcels at community mailboxes.
