Canada Safety Council Out With Driving Recommends

‘Be a Road Hero: The way you drive can save lives’.

That’s the message being delivered by the Canada Safety Council on this National Road Safety Week.

General Manager of Programming Renaud Michaud says motorists should be extra attentive the next couple of months as more drivers hit the road to enjoy summer.

He stresses drivers should be watching their speed, leaving lots of space and remaining calm and courteous.

Michaud also reminds motorists to stay focused and watch for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.

He also recommends “vulnerable road users” wear something bright to be more visible to drivers.

The latest statistics show that one in four of fatal incidents on Canadian roads involved so-called vulnerable users.
