Canada’s appeal of women’s soccer penalty dismissed

A six-point deduction for Canada’s women’s soccer team at the Paris Olympics will remain.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Soccer’s appeal.

The punishment came after a team staff member used a drone to spy on New Zealand’s practices.

Canada will need to win Wednesday afternoon’s game against Colombia to advance.
