The Canada – U.S. Trade War has begun.
U.S. President Trump’s 25% tariff on some Canadian made import products goes into effect on Tuesday.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is countering with 25% tariffs on U.S. made import products.
It feels and looks like this is not going to be a short-term conflict.
By all accounts from what I’ve heard and what I’m seeing on social media……Canadians are mad and rightly so. Over the years Canada’s relationship with the United States has been for the most part one of cooperation and collaberation. Good trading partners. But now that ‘partner’ part of the relationship has quickly come into question. What the heck happened?!?
The experts say this is going to hurt on both sides of the border.
I’m not an economist. I’m not a politician. I’m a PROUD Canadian citizen.
While the politicians and governments battle this out on our behalf we don’t need to sit back and wait – and we shouldn’t anyway. The call is out for Canadians to buy Canadian made products. Avoid the U.S. made items. Wait! What?? Shouldn’t we have been doing this all along anyway?! Maybe you have been but now it’s more important than ever to buy CANADIAN. Look at the labels. Look for the ‘Made in Canada’ labels. Support your local producers. Support your neighbors. Support Canada.

Undoubtedly when you go into grocery stores, liquor stores and other locations this week – you’ll be seeing more signs then ever of ‘Made In Canada’ and ‘Canadian Product’ on shelves and items that you might be looking to purchase.
