The new Human Rights Museum is now officially open in Winnipeg. The 350 million dollar facility is meant to showcase the human rights struggles of people around the world and was the brainchild of philanthropist Izzy Asper.
Friday’s opening included a speech by Governor General Donald Johnson. Various news reports indicate there were also numerous protesters, who weren’t able to disrupt the ceremonies, but who did attract attention to their complaints about the museum.
