The new CEO of the Canadian Cancer Society Ontario Division is touring the Region trying to determine the needs of cancer patients and volunteers.
Susan Whelan stopped in Dryden, Vermilion Bay and Red Lake Thursday.
Whelan says her focus is attracting more young people to volunteer their time with the Cancer Society.
She adds that Northwestern Ontario needs more money for oncology units and cancer patients need better access to transportation for treatment.
Her main goal is improving research and enhancing the quality of life of people living with cancer.
