The provincial government is going to get an earful at the upcoming Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Some towns in northern Ontario which have hydro dams could lose hundreds of thousand of dollars in grants.
The Wynne Government says it plans to phase out special payments for communities which have power dams.
Kenora Mayor Dave Canfield says the decision just doesn’t make sense.
Canfield says if this continues, people will be moving out of Ontario because the municipal taxes just keep getting higher.
He says the move could cost the city about half a million dollars.
