Captial Work in Atikokan

The paving of MacKenzie Avenue in Atikokan tops the list of capital work approved by Council.
Improvements to the White Street Bridge, Sewer systems and the Industrial Mall are included in the $1.5 million plan.
Atikokan Mayor Dennis Brown says its too early to tell what that will mean for taxpayers.
Brown says the spending spree should not lead to a significant hike as residents are saving on lower education rates.
He says much of the work was held over from last year, and they had to borrow about $200,000 from reserves.
